Your toilet is designed to handle exactly two things: human waste and toilet paper. Everything else is a gamble — and some of the most common 'flushable' products are the worst offenders.
Despite the label, so-called flushable wipes do not break down like toilet paper. They snag on roots and rough spots, bind with grease, and build into the dense clogs that cause backups. Plumbers and wastewater utilities agree on this one: don't flush them.
If it isn't pee, poop, or toilet paper, throw it in the trash. That one habit prevents the majority of the avoidable clogs we're called out for.
