How a Sewer Camera Inspection Actually Works

Published June 23, 2026 · 5 min read

A sewer camera inspection sounds high-tech, and the camera is — but the process is simple and quick. Here's what actually happens when we scope a line.

The Equipment

We use a waterproof, self-leveling camera head on a flexible push rod, with a bright LED ring and a transmitter. A monitor shows a live, high-resolution view of the inside of your pipe as the camera travels.

Step by Step

  • We access the line through your cleanout or an open fitting
  • The camera is fed down the lateral toward the municipal main
  • You watch the live feed and we explain what we see
  • A locator traces the camera's signal to mark depth and position of any defect

What You Walk Away With

A clear understanding of your line's condition, the exact location of any problem, and an honest recommendation. No guesswork, no digging to 'find out.'
